This Mother´s Day weekend in USA, Matt will serenade thousands of breast cancer survivors during Susan G Komen´s Washington DC Race for the Cure on May 9 and on the famous “Rocky” steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art during the 25th anniversary of the Philadelphia Race for the Cure on Mother´s Day, May 10. Matt will also be performing at additional events benefiting Susan G. Komen throughout 2015.

“This Mother’s Day I am so honored to begin my partnership with Susan G. Komen as we share our strength for all those battling this terrible disease,” said Matt. “I lost my mother to cancer last year, and it was her strength, as she never gave up, that truly inspired me to be strong and to do everything in my power to help prevent others from going through this. As a son, my mother would be so proud that they are using my song ‘Strong’ as the official anthem for Komen.”

“Breast cancer touches our lives in a way that nothing else can,” said Komen President and CEO Dr. Judy Salerno. “I am inspired each day by the strength and courage of those facing breast cancer and the loved ones who support them throughout their journey. Matt’s song, video and passion for others embody the spirit of our organization, and remind us why we cannot stop until we have ended this disease.”

Matt will also be a featured entertainer at this year’s Honoring the Promise gala, held on September 24, 2015, at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. Funds raised at Honoring the Promise will help fund breast cancer research and programs that support those facing breast cancer in the National Capital Region.
