Matt recently did an interview with Press Pass LA.
I really enjoyed reading this interview, lots of in depth answers. Read the questions and answers below

Q: When did you first know you wanted to be an entertainer?
A: When I was young, just a kid, my Aunt Sally used to sing all the time and I would try to out sing her. I didn’t really know what a performer was, I just knew I liked to sing. At the time, I actually wanted to be an actor so I did this performance with my acting teacher Jane Roberts, who was an incredible inspiration to me. It was a production of Cabaret and I thought, ‘Oh this is weird, I can sing and I can sing in tune’. I remember Jane said, ‘You’ve got a nice tone and you should cultivate that’. My (twin) brother was in a band so I asked to join. I asked…but he said I had to try out, so here I am trying out for this his bloody band of my brothers. I auditioned and I was in and then I was in about 7 or 8 bands before Bros had our first number one record in the UK when I was nineteen.

Q: What was that like to have so much success at such a young age?
A: It was amazing. You know, you hear of the top forty growing up and you go, ‘Oh my God, you dream of being in the top forty’ and we were told we were going to be #40, so just make it. The chart came on and number forty plays and it’s not us and we are so, so disappointed thinking we didn’t make it and then comes #39 and it’s us. We start jumping up and down and are so excited that we’d made it and it’s our debut song and then that song stayed in the charts for something like 87 weeks. It was ridiculous, it just wouldn’t go away and it ended up being number one.

Q: What made you decide to have a solo career?
A: It’s a fickle business the music business and we would always go to the top five roughly in the charts when we released a new song. Then, one time we went in at I think #9 and there was all this talk among people saying, ‘Oh, maybe they’re slipping’. I remember my brother said, ‘You know what, we can’t maintain this’. I mean, we played Wembley stadium to 70,000 people, we were the youngest band to do this. There would always be critics and it was just a good time for my brother to bow out and go and do other things that interested him. Primarily, I think he was just tired of being behind a drum kit. As a singer, I always got to feel the audience on a different level. So he went into acting and I stayed singing.

Q: How did you end up in Las Vegas?
A: I was making a record called Gossy and it was self-financed. I decided to make a record that didn’t have an A & R guy form a record company hanging over me. I just wanted to make a record under my own rules. I wrote songs like Evil,The Day We Met, and Firefly- the songs I use in the show. It was a strange thing; it was one of those moments where I just did it and then Robin Antin… I knew Robin just to say hi to basically at the time (now Goss’ agent), said she wanted to hear the album. I was just a song or two in but she heard it and said, ‘America has got to hear your voice’. So we showed it to Michael Greco at the Palms (VP of Entertainment) and George Maloof (Owner) and they saw the video for Evil and said, ‘We want to meet you tomorrow, can you fly in tomorrow?’. I said, ‘Yes’. They saw the video and they loved what they saw and then I met with them they said, ‘Can you do a show in Vegas’, and I again I said, ‘Yes’. Three days went by and basically I didn’t hear anything and then Michael called and said, ‘If you don’t get this show, I’m going to give you my watch’. I said, ‘I will take your watch because I collect watches’. The next day he calls me up and says. ‘I’ve got good news and I’ve got bad news’. I said, ‘Give me the bad news first’. He said, ‘You’re not getting my watch, welcome to Las Vegas’. And that was it. Nearly a year later, Gary Selesner (President of Caesars Palace) came in and said, ‘I want you at Caesars and that was that.

Q: You collect watches, what is your favorite?
A: Patek Phillipe, I have a 5712R and that’s probably my favorite but my favorite watches are Patek. My watches saved my life in a strange way. I sold one every few months to keep myself going after the band because for a while, my assets were frozen. We’d gone through a moment that was kind of strange financially. We’d made millions and lost millions and my watches kind of kept me going. It was hairy for a while, but I managed to get a big record deal a couple of years after I split from the band and came to America but the watches kind of kept my journey going. I think if you can, then buy a good watch, and I think most fellas like a good watch. I have a few really beautiful watches but this is my workhorse (tapping the Patek on his wrist).

Q: What does it mean to you to be able to headline at one of the most famous landmarks on the strip, alongside Caesars performers including Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Elton John?
A: It’s pretty phenomenal. We create a lot of noise out of that little room, The Gossy Room, and it gets mentioned all over the world. I’ve been told it’s like PR gold which makes me proud. For example, I just did a Ciroc Vodka campaign with P. Diddy and he’s aware of my show because of the press and the vibe. He told me, ‘I’m a big fan of your swagger’ and I’m a huge fan of what he does. In the spot, Ciroc showcases a new Rat Pack and I’m one of the guys. (The spot includes Frank Vincent-The Sopranos, Aaron Paul- Breaking Bad, Jesse Williams- Grey’s Anatomy, Chad Michael Murray- One Tree Hill, Kenneth Williams- The Wire.)

Q: I’m about to go to The Gossy Room to see your show, what can I expect?
A: I sing from my heart. You’re going to see honest music, honest performance and you’re going to see sexy woman, The Dirty Virgins, my dancers. People assume that only woman like the show (evidenced by the screaming British bachelorette party I experienced in the first row) but the thing is that fellas always obviously love the ladies in my show but they also always like the music because it’s so honest. It appeals to everyone. Nothing is to tape, all the performances are live. Yesterday, my guitarist had his guitar completely stuff up and I just got down on my knees and made up a song about him freaking out. It was fun, and I thought, can you screw up every night so we can do this!

Q: You just performed back in the UK at Royal Albert Hall and The Savoy and debuted some of your new songs. What was it like being back overseas?
A: It’s amazing. I’m proud of this town. To come here (to Vegas) as a stranger to this amazing city… this town has really taken me under its wings. So to be able to take a piece of this town back to London it’s amazing; it’s a win-win for me. I get to take this town and say to London, look, this is what we do. And then, all my band is from Vegas, completely American, so to take the boys and girls to London and watch their faces is amazing. When Isaac, my friend and trumpet player, says to me, ‘This is the biggest gig I’ve ever done in my life’ and to have that moment, to watch his face, I wait for those things. That’s a blessing for me, truly, and I’m not just saying that. That’s what I get out of all this, in a way. I get to see my cast get off a plane and we hang out and have a pint in the pub and then get to play The Savoy Hotel which is a landmark. The Albert Hall is obviously a beautiful venue and we had a great time there but at The Savoy we did dinner and a show and it was a very decadent evening. I think we represented Las Vegas very well.

Q: You’re song Lovely Las Vegas attracted the attention of NASCAR for its campaign. What inspired you to write this?
A: I wrote Lovely Las Vegas because I genuinely wanted a song that had swagger to it and that wasn’t nuts. It had to have swagger but also a bit of elegance. I didn’t think for a second that NASCAR would be the first to come aboard and say we want to use it in our campaign. Then once that spot went out, I’ve got guys saying how they saw my song on TV, these real petrol-heads! I love cars; I drive an Aston Martin, and I’m a complete car nut as well, so to have those guys support was just a very surprising partnership. I loved working with NASCAR and when I went out to the racetrack to perform and there were over 100,000 people there, I think we really got them going. I think I have a knack of shrinking venues and we always have fun.

Q: You were just named the ‘Sexiest Man in Las Vegas’. Seems to be a pattern, how do these compliments make you feel?
A: It’s all a bit weird, that stuff is odd to me because I am a cheeky person but my mom would slap me in the face if she thought I was getting a big head. I just genuinely don’t feel like….okay, it’s nice to come out of a long relationship and maybe be called an eligible bachelor because maybe it forces the issue a little bit, makes you feel a bit better. But I don’t really buy into any of that stuff. I’m grateful for it absolutely but I get kind of embarrassed to be honest with you.

Q: You are working on a new record now. Can you tell us a about that?
A: I’m doing a record right now with Ron Fair who has produced artists like Mary J. Blige, U2, Chrisina Aquilera, and Black Eyed Peas. He’s done some incredible records. He used to be the chairman of Geffen Records and now the first record he’s doing outside of that situation is my record. We really are making a beautiful album. Its’ going to be very glamorous; it’s going to have a lot of swag to it. It’s going to have edge but it’s definitely going to be decadent pop. We really want it finished by the first of January. My working title is…listen this is probably not going to be the title, but my working title is Midnight Conversations. Basically what happens is and I wish it was like a booty call situation (laughs) but it isn’t unfortunately. It’s at midnight or one in the morning I’ll call Robin or one of my managers and go, ‘Does this sound all right?’ and they’ll either say, ‘Keep going it’s great or it needs work’. If they say it needs work I’m like, ‘DELETE’ ‘ and I start again… but it will be late, so Midnight Conversations. But there is another song I wrote on the album called Mustang about comparing love to a Mustang. One of the lines is, ‘Have you ever seen a Mustang inside a fence’. To me, love is something that you have to allow happen. You have to have the courage to leave the gate open and if they run away, let them run, and if they come back then you know. l think you have to allow the other person that freedom. I don’t believe in being too possessive. Jealousy in the tiniest, tiniest amount I think is okay because it shows you genuinely care but the real thing to me, true love, is when you respect somebody enough and say if you think that you’re going to hurt me then tell me. I think my perspective on love is in a good place right now. You know, I am single but I do want to find love. I don’t do drugs, I live my life a certain way, but I really am a hopeless romantic. I want this record to be very rejoiceful. I don’t want to write any tortured songs. So I’m between Midnight Conversations and Mustang for the title, got a bit off track there, but I like the word Mustang so I don’t know, we’ll see.

Q: When you are not performing where do you spend your free time? Charity work, hobbies?
A: I just did a show for Opportunity Village earlier and actually just got back. I don’t really like to talk in depth about my charity work but I do support and do charity work. I also love to draw and design. I have a jewelry line called Matt Goss that is in Geary’s on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. I design all the pieces with my business partner. We do have watches but they are not part of the high-end line.

Q: In addition to your singing career, you are a best-selling author and there is a documentary currently being made about your life. Can you tell us about that?
A: We are in the middle of developing that documentary. We did a lot of filming but as anyone who has worked in TV will tell you, it’s ever-changing. It’s become a bit more high-brow, very stylized, and it’s going into a place that I really love. So it’s still in development but it is moving forward. I work with a company called Pulse Films on that. A few years ago, I wrote my best-selling auto-biography but now I am also writing children’s books. The book I am writing now is a series called Bear Crimbo. I definitely want to explore more writing.

Q: You write all of your own music, as well as for other artists. Some of your songs have been featured recently in TV and on stage, any that you are particularly proud of?
A: I wrote Change Me for Keri Hilson and Akon. I wrote the song for the finale and the main debut for a production in Paris called Cleopatra. It’s the equivalent of Broadway in Paris and a the composer (the Parisian equivalent of Andrew Lloyd Webber) wrote the orchestra to only my song. I also wrote the theme song for Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance.

Q: In your live show you are accompanied by a nine piece band but you also play many of your own instruments. What is your favorite?
A: I play a lot of instruments badly. My favorite…the organ, no I am just being rude! (The cheekiness he mentioned earlier) I play guitar mainly, a little bit of drums, a bit of bass. On the Gossy album, I play a minimum of seventy percent of all the music so it was fun. I was like a crazy professor.

Q: You mentioned that before your music career you wanted to be an actor. You recently did a bit of acting in the Ciroc campaign, any plans to continue with that?
A: It’s funny, Frank Vincent (The Sopranos) said to me, ‘You’ve got a solid presence on screen, you should think about getting into a bit of acting’. I love singing too much, but I wouldn’t mind dabbling in it. We shot the Ciroc Rat Pack spot and it would be cool if that could turn into a bigger story.

So .. It looks like the new album may be called either ” Mustang ” or ” Midnight Conversations “
What name do you prefer? Let us know in the comments section below.

Happy Christmas to everyone. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday. Matt is in the Mail On Sunday today talking about what he is doing for Christmas.

As I am now single, this will be my first Christmas in years spent by myself. Most of my family are still in the UK and I now live in Los Angeles – but I tend to keep a traditional English Christmas, and I will be meeting a few close friends, including my brother Luke and his wife Shirley. After exchanging gifts around my tree we’ll have a seasonal feast where I will carve the turkey and raise a glass to good health. This time of year is so full of sentiment that it can play with your emotions, so I am keeping my eye fixed on the horizon. I’ll make my donation to Battersea Dogs Home, where I got my beloved pet Billy.

The Stage that Matt will be playing on

Matt Goss To Bring Smash Hit ‘Matt Goss Live’ Vegas Show To UK For Very First Time

There was a time in the not-too-distant past when the term ‘Gossy’ meant nothing in Las Vegas. But today it reflects a certain distinctive, Old Vegas disposition. An inherent confident, cocksure swagger once exuded by the Rat Pack and today embraced by MATT GOSS.
Las Vegas Magazine

“He calls the old school vibe of his show a return to the sense of occasion. We call it a return to what made Vegas great, with a much needed twist.”
What’s On Magazine.

Matt’s as riveting as Bruce, as soulful as Justin and as Stylish as Frank… He is one of the most electric Performers I’ve seen in years. -Seeing Matt Goss in Concert is an unforgettable experience.”
Kenny Ortega
16th August 2010 : Press Release
Matt Goss is set to wow audiences this side of the Atlantic when he brings his smash hit ‘Matt Goss Live’ show to the UK for the very first time fresh from Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.
Dubbed “The Hottest Vegas Act…” by the LA Times, Matt Goss recently exploded back onto the music scene as a solo act, headlining at Caesars Palace with a Robin Antin (PussycatDoll’s creator) produced show ‘Matt Goss Live’ alongside his worldwide album release, “Gossy” (which spawned the hit ‘Evil’ which reached top chart success in numerous countries worldwide). The show has been such a huge success that fans and critics alike are now unanimous in dubbing Matt ‘the leader of a new Rat Pack of Las Vegas stars’ (Las Vegas Weekly), picking up where greats such as Sinatra left off, whilst stylishly bringing the great Vegas Legacy into the 21st Century.

On returning home to London, Matt had the following to say:
“Having played over a hundred shows in America last year I can’t wait to come home to London and play such a beautiful venue in the country I love.”
The London-born crooner was lead vocalist for the British teen-sensation Bros, burning up the pop charts in Europe and Australia, and selling out Wembley Stadium when he was just 20 to a massive crowd in excess of 70,000 fans. Bros had thirteen Top 5 singles and sold over 16 million albums, headlining two global tours playing in the biggest venues across the planet, which included the Sydney Entertainment Centre,Tokyo’s Buddha Kahn, the Royal Albert Hall and sold-out 15 consecutive nights in London.
Matt relocated to Los Angeles from the UK and has been consistently working as a successful songwriter & performer, co-writing with such artists as Keri Hilson, Akon, and has written the main duet and finale for France’s top selling Broadway musical equivalent, Cleopatré, having sold in excess of 600,000 tickets to date.

Matt will be performing a hit-studded set that will include his take on some of the greatest songs ever written as well a selection of his own critically acclaimed new material and some of the biggest Bros-era songs. This is bound to be one of the classiest shows you’ll see this year, so dust off your best black tie attire and join Matt Goss as he effortlessly brings all the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas to the Royal Albert Hall this October.

The show will be on the 19th October 2010 at London’s Royal Albert Hall

Below is a review of Matt’s show from TheStar.Com

For another style of reinvention, head on over to Caesars Palace, the classic Vegas hotel. In a monument to tackiness that used to be called “Cleopatra’s Barge,” you now have “The Gossy Room.” The headliner here is Matt Goss, remembered by many for his time in the British group Bros. But all that is behind him now. He’s taken his love for the Vegas of the past and mixed it with the musicianship of the present to come up with a show that is sheer dynamite. His seven-piece band features a white-hot brass section that can even make the intro to “Hotel California” sound exciting again. And Goss works tightly with his group, with that real feeling of give-and-take the best entertainers provide. For eye-candy, there’s a pair of white-gowned ladies to sing backup and another quartet of ebony-clad lovelies to dance in erotic abandon. And in the centre is Goss, trim tuxedo, pork-pie hat at a jaunty angle, beard just scruffy enough. He sings up a storm, everything from Sinatra classics to his own yearning ballads and the mix is sheer magic. He takes the temperature of the room and delivers what’s needed at any given moment. You can almost feel him exchanging signals with the band. Are they ready to get hotter? Let’s go, boys. Do they need to cool things down a bit? Let’s chill, fellas. The end result is what people used to go to nightclubs for: something original, unique, just-for-the-moment. Sure, you expect to hear Goss sing a Sinatra favourite like “I’ve Got the World on a String,” but when he also pulled a deeply personal number of his own out of the air, it seemed like something he had just decided to do on the spur of the moment, inspired by the night and the music and the crowd. We’ve all heard the stories from the past. That’s what it was like in the old days when The Rat Pack would take the stage and nobody knew what was going to happen. How drunk was Dino? How crazy was Sammy? How feisty was Frank? Nowadays with shows in 4,000-seat theatres run by banks of computers, there isn’t a lot of room for spontaneity. That’s why somebody like Goss is a welcome change of pace.

This is from an article by Robin Leach who was at Matt’s opening night show

British singer-songwriter Matt Goss has a worldwide following, and fans from Europe, Australia and Canada who couldn’t get to his opening night in Caesars Palace over the weekend set off a viral tidal wave to be there online. Scary Spice Mel B, multiplatinum-recording artist Leona Lewis and singer Natasha Bedingfield, however, made it through the throngs for Matt’s premiere produced by Pussycat Dolls creator Robin Antin in the new Gossy Room at Cleopatra’s Barge in Caesars Palace.  Stunning Playboy playmate Laura Croft also was there the first night, and on the second night, The Hills reality TV stars and real-life couple Audrina Patridge and singer Ryan Cabrera turned up, where fans trying to get in offered $100 tips to staff to find them a seat. He opened to the jam-packed room with “Superstition” and performed Frank Sinatra favorites, including “Luck Be a Lady” and “I’ve Got the World on a String.” The crowd erupted and sang along to the popular “Hotel California” and “Lovely Las Vegas,” an original score written as a love song to his new home on the Strip. I was amazed when I posted my first tweets because I had an almost instant response from Matt’s fans in Australia, Canada, London and elsewhere in Europe despite the time zone differences. They avalanched me with requests to keep tweeting during the show, and when I posted videos of Matt’s performance and my interview with him afterward, it was pure overload on my Twitter account. Within 20 minutes, the Australians said they were counting 10,000 followers Down Under through the entire concert, with even more fans joining from London and Canada. It’s incredible to watch his fan base following every note, and in the first hour of our early morning teaser posting with the simultaneous coverage on Matt’s Web sites, another 6,000 logged on!

Robin Leach has been a journalist for over 50 years and has spent the last 10 years giving people in Las Vegas all the gossip. He met up with Matt during rehearsals for an interview, some of which you can see below.
Tonight, singers Mel B from the Spice Girls, Leona Lewis and Natasha Bedingfield are expected at the red carpet gala with Strip stars Rita Rudner from Harrah’s, Frank Marino from Imperial Palace and Holly’s World star and Playboy Playmate Laura Croft.
Matt and I sat down to chat yesterday during a rehearsal break, and I asked him how his new lounge compares to The Gossy Room he left two months ago at the Palms. “I love my old room. I think what we did with it, we took that really basic-looking room and turned it into a valid, intimate showroom. So I was very proud of that, obviously. But there are challenges with this room, too, in that it also has a lot of history,” Matt said. “But I am very esthetic-based. I get involved in the way things look. I don’t just turn up and do my thing. We have been really digging in with everyone at Caesars. I think now the room is looking pretty beautiful. I am trying to bring back a genuine place where after I have done my show, I want it to be a destination point where people can really come dressed up and just hang out all night long with me. This room is really starting to feel like the room I wanted. Its challenges with the shape have now become the charm of this room. It has been there forever, people know that, and I want to keep its legend alive and going.”

“Rehearsals are going great. We have people just standing around outside. They can’t see in, but they can hear our music. Every time we finish rehearsals, they’re cheering. It has been great. We have a new English host who will make our guests feel safe and welcomed when they come in. I think people will be a little in awe when they walk in, I feel, a sense of relief that this room exists now. We have made it more decadent. We want to keep the room open. I have got this saying: ‘I want to bring the sun up in The Gossy Room.’ I want people to stay. I want people to come and see the show and have a few drinks and then go, ‘I left The Gossy Room, and the sun is up.’ We want to keep the room going all night.”

Matt is in todays SUN newspaper in the UK.
It is a 2 page spread, and the heading says ” America’s New Sinatra “
Matt talks about why he moved to America, his Jeans company,
a licensing company, and still making records.

Matt says

I’m a South East London boy and don’t know when to quit. I view my life as a sandstorm and
if you keep putting your right foot in front of your left foot that sandstorm will come to an end.
A strange part of me felt i was in this shallow grave. I didn’t feel fullfilled.
It was like being somewhere between alive and dead creatively. I was a Ferrari and i knew
i could reach all kinds of speeds but i wanted to floor it, and i feel like i am flooring it now,
and that feels nice. Caesars Palace truly is a national platform. You might be playing Caesars
but you are also playing to the world. You get a constantly different audience.
The last show we played The Palms, a girl took her bra off and rolled down the front of her dress.
Then she started taking her dress off. It was strangely appropriate.

Two decades on from his boyband heyday, Matt Goss has staged an amazing career turnaround and found himself being hailed as the new Frank Sinatra. Goss, one third of Eighties pop group Bros, has landed the prestigious headline act residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the former home of Rat Pack stars Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr and Sinatra in the early Sixties. After self-funding his album Gossy, Lewisham-born Matt had his big break in Vegas when he performed at the Palms Casino six months ago. Singing both big band numbers and original material at Caesars Palace, Goss has attracted attention from US critics who have been following his rise to success in America. According to the Las Vegas Sun, Goss, 41, is “known to his fans across the world as The Voice”, sparking comparisons with Ol Blue Eyes.

Boyband Bros were a huge success in the Eighties. But the trio were rarely praised for the quality of their singing. However, 20 years on, that has all changed. Now frontman Matt Goss is being compared to Frank Sinatra by US critics who are raving about his new live show in Las Vegas.
It’s an astonishing turnaround.
Matt, who now croons big band favourites, has been labelled as “the leader of a new Rat Pack” and hailed as the best new act in Vegas by the Los Angeles Times. But the singer is still keen to reunite with brother Luke and drummer Craig Logan for some Bros shows. He said: “I miss my fans in the UK, We had 11 hits and I want to sing them on stage. “I want the reunion to happen but everyone has to be in the same headspace.”

More than two decades after he last graced the Top Ten with Eighties boy band Bros, you might expect Matt Goss to have faded into obscurity, or to be touring with his old hits, trying to recapture the glory days. But instead he has just been announced as a headline act at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, the casino where Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin performed in their prime. Indeed, the former teen idol has already attracted flattering comparisons to the Rat Pack, who epitomised cool in the Sixties.Fittingly, Matt is performing a mixture of Sinatra-era standards and original songs, backed by a troupe of risque dancers called the Dirty Virgins.

Matt was in the UK Sun newspaper on Thursday 28th January 2010
Matt appeared in Gordon Smart’s Bizarre showbiz section with the heading
” BROS STAR LIGHTS UP LAS VEGAS “

EVER wondered what former BROS star MATT GOSS is up to?
Well I’m pleased to reveal the singer – who shot to fame in the late ’80s – has been busy reinventing himself in Las Vegas. In a spectacular turn of fortunes he’s now landed a lucrative deal at Sin City’s Caesar’s Palace Hotel – following in the footsteps of CHER, BETTE MIDLER and CELINE DION. He’s also shared a stage with NICOLE SCHERZINGER after signing up with top manager Robin Antin – creator of the PUSSYCAT DOLLS. Vegas promoters are excitedly pitching Matt as having the “looks of DAVID BECKHAM and the voice of FRANK SINATRA”. Matt said: “I’m so proud to have got this gig. I can’t wait to get started.”
Well done chap.

Matt Goss is the newest act in Las Vegas and comes to America an unknown. The singer brings his talent and good looks along with a list of international credentials that any entertainer would be envious of.There is a new act in Las Vegas that is breaking the rules. Matt Goss arrives in Vegas as an unknown but is quickly becoming very well known and his show at the Palms Casino and Resort is getting very favorable reviews. Vegas has become notorious for putting up ‘name’ acts and shying away from unknowns lately.Matt Goss comes to America and Vegas from England. He started his career in the British boy-band Bros. Some consider him the Justin Timberlake of the U.K. But in the States he has been almost unheard of except in music circles and that is what makes his show at the Palms unique. The marketing machine behind him is second to none in Vegas, presenting him as uber-hip, Sinatraesq, and an almost rebirth of everything ‘cool and now’,’ in Vegas. The local press in Vegas has been a little slight handed and even jaded with stories on him (he must be British) but they can’t seem to deny his talent which world-wide has earned him the title “The Voice.”To give an example of his world-wide success, his first album with Bros sold 400,000 copies the first week and eventually sold 5 million copies. They had thirteen Top 5 singles and sold over 16 million albums. Goss headlined two global tours playing in the biggest venues across the planet (except America) which included the Sydney Entertainment Centre, Tokyo’s Buddha Kahn, the Royal Albert Hall and sold-out 15 consecutive nights at London’s Wembly Arena. The group Bros even had one concert that had 70,000 fans in attendance.Early in his career his credentials were world-wide impressive, which included number one hits in 19 countries, winner of 15 Smash Hits Awards, the biggest selling video ever, even topping Michael Jackson’s Thriller. That all happened before the 90’s and of course in the music business it is always “what have you done lately” kind of attitude. From 2000 to 2005 he bounced around the U.K. producing a few songs and even doing a reality show called “Hells Kitchen.”Just like any teen star, life after is always a struggle to establish as an adult entertainer, and it takes years of perseverance. He finally made into the U.S. in 2006 and debuted on the ‘Craig Ferguson Show.’Then in 2008 his Vegas brake came when Robin Antin took over as his manager; Robin was the creator of the famous “Pussy Cat Dolls.”This Friday night saw some big celebrity names come out to see what all the fuss is about with this transplant to America.Kim Kardashian sits with producer Robin Antin at the ‘Matt Goss Live from Vegas’ show at the Palms Casino and Resort.Kim Kardashian attended “Matt Goss Live from Las Vegas” inside the Gossy Room (the Palms renamed its front casino venue after Goss) at the Palms Casino Resort on Friday night. Kim sat with Robin Antin producer and Pussycat Dolls creator. Kim got up on stage during Matt’s finale “St. James” and sang and danced with him. Jon Lovitz (Saturday Night Live Fame) was also in the audience Friday night.Matt Goss and Kim Kardashian pose for a photo together after the show at the Palms. Matt Goss is selling out again, but this time in Vegas at the Palms, and who knows, at 40 with his good looks and a voice that is unmistakably talented, could very well sing his way into the Las Vegas history books as the new ‘King of Cool’ and be this century’s Sinatra.

Robin Leach has said the following about Matt in a recent article after seeing Matt’s LIVE Las Vegas show

“I hereby nominate British singing sensation Matt Goss as the leader of a new Rat Pack of Las Vegas stars. With all due respect, it’s time to retire the legend of Frank Sinatra and let Matt ascend to those heights!”

Put Matt Goss in a white tuxedo jacket, and you’d swear a real-life James Bond had walked into the casino. No wonder the British singer’s fans were swooning when the curtain went up on his premiere show at the Palms. Some audience members had flown in from as far away as England and other parts of Europe, and when I used Twitter during the show, I suddenly had more than 40 followers from London asking me for live song-by-song reports and photos!.“The Voice” had the fully packed new Gossy Lounge cheering throughout his amazing, nonstop set of Bros hits, new original material and a couple of familiar oldies and not-so-known newbies! It was a night that captured and re-created the total feel of old Vegas entertainment — up close and intimate with a super singer at the top of his form. The backup nine-piece band became my instant heroes with their stunning sounds. The four new Dirty Virgin dancers in corsets and stockings with pink garter straps were enchanting, and the two backup singers, dressed in the sharpest and sexiest of flight attendant uniforms, can scan my ticket and strap me in anytime they want. The production was created and masterminded by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin, who now has another bona-fide hit on her hands with their twice-a-week residency at George Maloof’s Palms. The hotel mogul was on hand with a bevy of bunnies from his Playboy Club for the first-night festivities. It was all a triumph, and right after the show, Robin told me: “It all came together beautifully. Matt was fantastic. The music, the songs, the dancing, it just all worked like a winner should.” “Luck Be a Lady Tonight” and watermelon liqueur shots. Matt and Robin toasted each other’s success with champagne on the stage before fans wanting photos and autographs mobbed Matt.Matt added: “It felt great for a first night. It’s here, and we’ll tighten and add now each week so it goes from great to the absolute best. I felt comfortable. I love Vegas. I loved the audience. It’s all a perfect match.”Afterward, they went up to The Playboy Club to continue their first-night fun. If Matt had worn a white tuxedo, it would have been a scene from a 007 movie. Old-time Vegas with a modern flair has been reborn!

Robin Leach has been a journalist for more than 50 years and has spent the past decade giving readers the inside scoop on Las Vegas, the world’s premier platinum playground.
