Singer/Songrwriter Matt Goss has announced a special milestone evening to celebrate his birthday and his 300th show as a Las Vegas headliner on Saturday, Sept 29th at The Gossy Room at Caesars Palace. The show started at the Palms in September of 2009 and quickly moved to the strip at Caesars Palace. The sold out show is produced by Robin Antin, creator of the Pussycat Dolls. It includes a 9 piece band, and sexy “Dirty Virgin” dancers.
Matt Goss LIVE has been a huge success, selling out and attracting celebrities from all over the world. One of the most recent celebrities in the audience was DJ Paul Oakenfold, who collaborated with Goss on two songs. The first one, Firefly, hit number one on the World Trance Chart. Oakenfold and Goss recently released another hit, called “Touch The Sky,” which is available on iTunes and will be officially released on December 10th.
Goss was also honored to have legend Dick Clark in his audience last year, before he passed away. Clark even wrote Matt a letter afterward, saying he he rearranged his travel plans just to see him perform. Recently, actor and model Chad Michael Murray celebrated his birthday at the show. Other celebrity guests have included, Leona Lewis, Kelly Osbourne, Ricky Hatton, Nigel Lythgoe, Tia Carrere, Wayne Newton, Debbie Gibson, Audrina Patridge, and Gretchen Rossi. Mel B, Natasha Bedingfield, and Nicole Scherzinger have all sang with Matt on stage. Even legendary music producer, Kenny Ortega hopped up on stage once. Ortega said, “he’s one of the most electric performers I’ve seen in years!” Local Las Vegas celebrities return to the show over and over again as well.
Goss sold more than 17 million records worldwide. He was the youngest man in history to ever play the massive Wembley Stadium, where part of the Olympics were just held. He has also performed for Queen Elizabeth AND had the honor of having lunch with Princess Diana. The last two years, Goss traveled back to the UK to perform at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall. He’s returning again this November to perform at a benefit event for the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, opened for Matt at RAH last year. Goss will perform an intimate show in London for his fans as well.
Also, add on a two national commercials for Goss. He was hand picked by rap mogul and Ciroc spokesperson, Sean P. Diddy Combs, to star in his “Luck Be A Lady” CIROC television and print advertisement. Goss was chosen as part of what Diddy calls the “NEW Rat Pack.” The commercial was shot in Las Vegas. You can see the short film version online. Goss was also featured in the Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s national NASCAR commercial in 2011. He sang his iconic song, “Lovely Las Vegas,” which is becoming a strip classic.
This year has been good to the British singer. He’s currently recording a monumental album with legendary music producer, Ron Fair. The album is Las Vegas inspired and will be released in 2013. Fair has 30 years of experience working at major record labels. He has mentored artists like Christina Aguilera, The Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, and Vanessa Carlton. Fair has been nominated for 14 Grammy Awards. He said the album with Goss is, “the record of his life.”
Other accomplishments during his three years in Las Vegas include singing at the Nevada Ballet Theater’s 40th anniversary at the Smith Center for Performing Arts. He was the first artist to ever sing with the ballet there. Goss was also chosen to sing “Lovely Las Vegas” at the famed show JUBILEE’s 30th anniversary.
Goss has a strong tie to the military. He was even made Honorary Captain in the 17th Special Troops Battalion last year. He’s also an accomplished author. His autobiography, More Than You Know, published in 2005, and reached number one on the best sellers list. His children’s book, Bear Crimbo, was released in 2010.
Publications have called Goss the King Of Vegas, The New Sinatra, The Voice and the Singer with Swagger. Matt Goss certainly has made an impact on Las Vegas and plans to continue growing his show.
